Silver Taint represents an idea that I love about the post-process of photography.
I love black and white images but I also am intrigued by sepia and cyanotype printing. However, I find that either look can become a bit overwhelming, like too much curry spice in noodles, it is too much.
While I like the tonal emphasis that black and white photography lends, I find myself wanting to utilize some color in a meaningful way to underscore these properties.
Some time ago I learned about a post-process method that applies cyanotype to sepia to create a wonderful balance between these two looks. Using specialized software, I found a pleasing balance between the two looks. The paper type is sepia, but the ink is cyan. Therefore, highlights appear sepia while shadows have a bluish tint. In between the tones appear to be silver–the inspiration for the name of this collection.
While I chose not to limit myself to a narrow theme, the content represents experiences and places I encountered as I grew as a photographer and an individual. The theme, mainly, is the process I chose for this selection of images: Silver Taint.
The Taint is a commentary, a summary of the experience.
Ultimately, the editing process is the final step in the expression of photography.

I especially like the first three pictures. Interesting effect .
