Origins: My love of landscapes

Before I became a photojournalist, I photographed landscapes. However, one of the traps I fell into as an amateur photographer was over-editing my images.

Photojournalism taught me to capture a good photo first, as opposed to fixing a bad photo later using fancy software.

While I still use photo editing software to adjust my photos, I use it strategically for making artistic decisions that do not dramatically alter the photo.
