Wind Freezing My Face

We had just crossed the road block when we were assaulted by freezing wind. The ambient temperature was in the low twenties, so I’m sure that wind chill was placing us in danger of frostbite. Surprisingly, COVID face-masks are quite effective at blocking the wind.

We pressed on, seeing the bend in the road of the Beartooth pass we wanted to reach. I was hoping that it would give is a view up the canyon where the Rock Creek originated.

Hannah and I had driven over the Beartooth pass, located near Red Lodge, Montana, many times. But this was our first time visiting in the winter when the pass is closed to motor vehicles during the season.

Nearly two miles pass the gate and we were rewarded with a splendid scene. The wind that was biting our faces was also whipping snow off the mountain peaks, which made for dramatic photos.

My wife and I were overcome by awe of God’s majestic creation. His glory is revealed in nature. We were thankful that we had the opportunity to experience a slice of it.
