Autumn presents great opportunities for photographers, yet one can also feel a bit frustrated if they are unable to undertake road trips to the countryside or exotic mountainous locations. This is especially true during the pandemic.
However, one does not have to travel far to find inspiration. Begin with taking a walk in your neighborhood and observe the interplay light has with your environment.
Don’t think about how other people will just your photographs. Shoot only what interests you.
Set your camera to spot meter and aim for the highlights.
Look for back-lit foliage.
Look for subjects to juxtapose.
Look for color connections.
Most importantly: take the time, or allow yourself the time to walk with your camera without any expectations. Take away the pressure on yourself to produce amazing photos by allowing yourself to enjoy the walk.
Maybe just walk without your camera and take in the sunshine.
Enjoy.
