On Aug. 5, 2017, volunteer reenactors traveled to Fort Phil Kearney near Story, Wyoming, to partaken the 150-year anniversary of the Wagon Box Battle.
The battle involved 32 United States soldiers and nearly 800 warriors on Aug. 2, 1867 approximately 30 miles south of Sheridan. The soldiers held off the attacks of the Native warriors with only six casualties.
I was covering the event for The Sheridan Press but also brought along my Olympus OM2 film SLR with a roll of Kodak TMAX black and white film.
